This method of disposal required a wholly unprecedented building type - both functional and symbolic - set in a new landscape for mourning. Professor Grainger is a Dean of London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. She is the leading authority on the late Victorian architect Ernest George and on the architecture of British crematoria.
