"While daily life in Silicon Valley can be stranger than fiction--it's still a treat to read Joe Hutsko's 'The Deal.' Tracking on experiences of real-life companies, it's hard not to try to figure out who is who in this gripping roman-a-clef novel. If you want to understand the machinations of the moguls and mogul-wannabes who are capturing the nation's attention, 'The Deal' will give you an entertaining primer and informative glimpse into this unusual world." -- Kara Swisher, Reporter, San Francisco bureau of the Wall Street Journal
"Joe Hutsko, [former Apple chairman] John Sculley's personal technical advisor for many years, takes us on a fictional tour from the board rooms of America's largest computer technology companies to the bedrooms of its executives, providing a rare insight in what happens in this not-so fictional world." --William R. Hearst III
"Money, ego, power-Joe Hutsko has written a classic boardroom farce, a romp through Silicon Valley's executive suites that will make you think twice about computers, business, and the destructive potential of soda-pop cans. --Frank Rose, author of "West of Eden: The End of Innocence at Apple Computer"
"A wild expose of the real soap opera that made front pages and computer industry history." --Digby Diehl, Literary Correspondent for ABC-TV's "Good Morning America"
"Reading 'The Deal' is like being a fly on the ultimate Silicon Valley boardroom wall. Hutsko combines an insider's knowledge with a storyteller's craft." --Gloria Nagy, author of "A House in the Hamptons," "Marriage," and "Looking For Leo"
"Wow! A computer bug's-eye-view into the human side of a monumental segment of Silicon Valley business. With panache and insight, computer-biz insider Hutsko has written a corker of a novel about a computer business deal that will change the world...Or perhaps already has. Insightful, engrossing and terrific." --David Bischoff, author of "Hackers," "Wargames"
