A darker ritual is unfolding - and Stone's daughter may be the next victim. Can he stop a psychopath before the final act is complete? Or will the next name on the killer's list be too close to home? The Dead of Midwinter is a tense and atmospheric British detective novel, blending the grit of a police procedural with the psychological suspense of a serial killer thriller. EVERY YEAR, IT ENDS IN DEATH.
For sixteen years, the Midwinter Butcher has been watching. Waiting.
Now the pattern is changing.
When DI Joseph Stone is called to investigate a series of disturbing incidents in Oxford, it looks like a routine case.
It isn’t.
Sixteen years ago, one of those incidents led to the accident that killed Stone’s baby son.
Now the pattern is escalating.
And if Stone is right, it’s only a matter of time before the Midwinter Butcher stops practising… and starts killing for real.
This isn’t random.
This isn’t over.
And it was never finished.
The Midwinter Butcher has been waiting. Watching. Planning something far worse than before.
And if Stone gets it wrong…
his daughter could be next.
Perfect for readers of Rhys Dylan, JD Kirk and British detective crime thrillers.
