Two teams died when British Airways flight 609, attempted its fateful third take off at Munich airport on the afternoon of Thursday February 6,1958. Eight of Britain's finest sporting journalists perished alongside the players they loved. The stories about the players are, rightly, the stuff of legend. This though, is a long due tribute to the brilliant journalists that told the story of that brilliant team. Providing biographical details of each, it uses some of their finest work to chronicle the development of the Busby Babes, enabling the reader to appreciate the rise of that glorious team from the perspective of a contemporary supporter
