Stop memorizing chart patterns. Start understanding what price is actually telling you.
A triangle, hammer, double bottom, or breakout means almost nothing when it is taken out of context.
The real skill is knowing where the pattern appears, what price did before it formed, what confirms the setup, where the trade becomes invalid, and when you should stay out completely.
Day Trading Chart Patterns Playbook gives new and developing traders a practical visual framework for reading price action and recognizing the chart formations that appear again and again across active markets.
Marcus Halden breaks technical analysis down into clear, usable concepts without drowning you in unnecessary theory.
Inside, you’ll learn how to:
- Recognize bullish and bearish chart patterns quickly
- Read candlestick signals in the proper market context
- Identify support, resistance, supply, and demand areas
- Understand higher highs, lower lows, trends, and trading ranges
- Trade bull flags, bear flags, triangles, wedges, and channels
- Analyze double tops and double bottoms
- Recognize head-and-shoulders formations and reversals
- Understand cup-and-handle formations
- Spot clean breakouts and dangerous false breakouts
- Use retests instead of blindly chasing price
- Combine candlestick confirmation with chart structure
- Define entries, invalidation points, stops, and potential targets
- Separate strong setups from weak look-alikes
- Avoid common breakout traps and failed patterns
- Build a repeatable process for evaluating trades before risking capital
This isn't a collection of random shapes followed by definitions.
You'll learn to ask:
Where did the pattern form?
What happened before it appeared?
Who appears to be in control?
Has the setup actually confirmed?
Where is the trade proven wrong?
Does the potential reward justify the risk?
The book also includes visual examples and a compact 20 Chart Setups Every Trader Should Recognize playbook designed to help you review important formations quickly.
Whether you trade stocks, ETFs, futures, forex, or other liquid markets, the underlying principles of price action remain remarkably similar.
Learn the patterns. Understand the context. Control the risk. Make better trading decisions.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
