Do NPCs also run on coffee and a healthy amount of panic? Are they more like us than we ever gave them credit for?
Have you ever played a video game and been intrigued by the non-playable characters? Maybe you were curious about the trainee arms master trying like heck to break out of her System-given limitations? Or the flower girl who gave that one fascinating quest that you couldn’t stop thinking about long after you’d completed the game? Perhaps you were left wondering how the bartender at Mare and Maiden handles the sheer chaos after you’ve moved on.
Now you can join them on their journeys! Experience the horrors of when your cellar keeps spawning dungeons, rival goblins open a competing pub across the street, and a bard demon is stuck playing that same damn song on loop. Not to mention the sarcastic System forcing you to hand out quests when you’ve got [Things] to do!
This anthology explores the lives of the underappreciated NPCs, who work tirelessly to keep things running.
