7 inches x 11 3/3 in. Commercial Day Book, with lined, but unnumbered pages. Contains approximately 88 handwritten letters (some are manuscript copies of replies by D. C. Baldwin), 24 typed letters; most of the manuscript & typed letters are dated (Feb. 1896) and are signed. Six other partial letters, or manuscript speeches, etc. written out by Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives (Elyria, Lorain County), David C. Baldwin. 20 telegrams, one Petition with several signatures; a handwritten list of number of names by town for a petition about the "Harris Bill"/"Haskell Bill", one postcard; one receipt for a contribution to the Ohio Republican Executive Committee, a clipped newspaper article regarding David Sleeper. All these are partly pasted to one edge of the pages, a few are laid in. Gray, textured cloth with titling printed on the front cover, inked title on the spine, red edges. The spine shows browning, dusting, edge wear to the covers, some age-related tanning, chipping is present to the Day Book pages.
