Pandemic Dawn Book III: Day of Abomination
"He paused for a moment. Talking aloud to himself was a saddening but now common practice. Since Scott's death, Pete had begun doing that to fill the silence that saturated his house. With his mother in the back shed, there were none of her noises to keep him company either. The wind and an occasional creak were all he usually heard, and that certainly wasn't enough to keep him from feeling as empty inside as the house now was.Since his mother became infected, Pete was never sure if she would ever get better, and Scott had become his closest friend. He never dreamed that Scott would have turned on him as he did. Six months ago, he would never have dreamed that he would be sitting in an empty house with his best friend buried in the yard and his mother chained in the work shed."
Book description: Pandemic Dawn Book One took readers on a suspenseful journey of conflict with romance and loyalty. The second book in this series, Pandemic Dawn Book II: Rise of the State, jumped right in with Taylor continuing to look for his son with the help of Tia, his female companion whom he rescued from the slave trade.
In Pandemic Dawn Book III: Day of Abomination, Taylor faces his son's captor Samuel. Is there any way he can free his son from the slave camp before it's too late?
The complex's sanctuary is in peril as they are overrun with Cursed, as the virus continues to spread and infect, killing even more. At the military facility, the coup disrupted the research. Two scientists who head the development of a cure are killed. The hopes of finding the answer to this deadly plague diminish.

SERIES PRAISE "The author does an excellent job of putting us into the world he has created for Taylor, Dr. Richards, Dorothy, and his other characters. There is a great web of multiple storylines going on, and Shields weaves them all with clever dialog and just the right amount of visual description. Most importantly, he gives us the sense that some of these seemingly separate characters will cross paths at some point, and I won't tell you if they all do or not. Overall, a very satisfying read for this sci-fi-zombie-apocalypse fan, and I can't wait to read the rest of the books coming in this series!" -- S. Dewar
"I love the author's style of writing, and how he makes the characters so engaging and the storyline gripping, the adventures of the characters drew me into the story and made me feel like I was experiencing it myself. I love when a book can do that for a reader; then I start to read slower as the end of the book approaches because I don't want the story to end." -- Miss Snow
