Item description from seller

Wilkie was generally seen in his day as a great innovator doing something that had not been done in quite his way before. One result of this was a degree of hesitancy as to how to label his type of picture. In modern times Wilkie has been described as a painter of every day life ahich is how the 17th century Dutch painters of domestic interiors are often described. 160pp in colour. Book size 270x240mm.
