The centre of this work is the school essay "Ein Leben für die Schwarzen Brüder" by the author from 1954. This essay on David Livingstone - handwritten and with great drawings - inspired the author not to leave this treasure well stored in a closet, but to make it visible and readable for many, a literary letting go. To frame Livingstone's work by two great musical personalities, Schmidt pays tribute to Albert Schweitzer and Michael Prätorius, a musical letting go. After this digression, the author devotes himself to two fundamentally important fathers to the mission between the denominations--Johann Hinrich Wichern and Johannes Evangelista Gossner. In conclusion, the reader will find sermons by the author on casualies, such as the granddaughter's baptism. A treasure chest, full of treasures that are all worth discovering!
