KRUMMACHER, F.W. (1796-1868) German pastor at Bremen. David, The King of Israel. Limited Classical Reprint Library. Minneapolis, MN : Klock & Klock Christian Publishers, 1983. 8vo. 540 pp. Cover and contents all near fine/fine. Through the descriptions by F. W. Krummacher, the scenes and events of David and his times pass before the readers with the vividness of actual events occurring before their eyes. The stimulating, fast pace of his style reflects the tone of his powerful preaching. Characteristic of his biblical portraits, Krummacher staunchly affirms God’s providential control over the course of human endeavours and richly applies the scriptural narrative to universal human experience. Frederick Wilhelm Krummacher (1796-1868), a German Reformed pastor, was a powerful preacher with a rich and soaring imagination. He was a master of expository and biographical preaching.
