"complete edition". Modern half leather binding with marbled boards. Five raised bands to spine. Gilt lettering "The Nottingham Date-Book" on black leather patch to compartment two.Teg. 8.5ins x 5.75ins, [viii], vi, pps 9 to 200, pps 5 to 629 plus a frontis map of Nottingham being a reproduction of a Speed map of 1611. According to the prefaces this work was first issued inin 1849 covering the period 1750 to 1849 and was the work of John Frost Sutton. Henry Field then revised the work and extended it to 1879 and this complete edition runs through to 1884. Part one (the first 200pp) covers the period 850-1749. Part two covers 1750 to 1884. Text pages are browned. There are a number of ticks and crosses (in pencil) to the margins. A well preserved copy of a scarce title.
