"As thrilling as a rollercoaster ride, this fantastical world of spies, spirits, ancient prophecies and hidden cities tests Josh to his limits..." The Booktrust, 2009 by "sci-fi author M.G. Harris, creator of the best-selling Joshua Files." Radio Times Magazine, 5th September 2013.
Previously in Zero Moment Josh Garcia finally learned the truth about what happened to his father. He's also discovered how to unleash the power of an artifact known as the Bracelet of Itzamna.
Josh is one of the guardians of the Ix Codex, which contains the knowledge needed to prevent a cosmic catastrophe. If they don't solve the puzzle of the codex, on 22 December an electromagnetic pulse will blast through the atmosphere. Technology will fail. Civilization will fall apart.
But when Josh notices something distinctly odd about the world around him he begins to suspect that someone has altered time.
To put everything back on track, Josh must risk the dangers of time travel and unravel history itself. He must journey back to when the Ix Codex first went missing.
A dark, parallel reality awaits Josh in the ancient Mayan Snake Kingdom, and also in the bizarre present day in which 'God spared Mexico' - but from what?
The fourth instalment of M. G. Harris's best-selling series, The Joshua Files, which has been translated into 17 languages.
Dark Parallel is the fourth in a five-part action-adventure series for readers who love sci-fi thrills firmly grounded in a contemporary setting. This series launched an author who later went on to work with Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson. "Puppet-master Gerry Anderson conceived the story for Gemini Force One, but wasn't able to complete it due to the onset of Alzheimer's. The series of novels will now be written by sci-fi author MG Harris, creator of the best-selling Joshua Files." Radio Times Magazine, 5th September 2013.
