This VG- quality book was copyrighted in 1931 and is published by the Goldsmith Publishing Co.; it is 7-5/8" tall with 243 numbered pages of text. This book has a teal/light blue cloth binding with all black lettering; because it lacks a small picture on the front, it is a format #2 book, as per Mattson & Davis. It is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with slight fraying at the head; the bottom edges have very little wear though the front corner is worn through to the board. The spine is clean and the lettering is clear and intact. The front panel is clean and has very little wear. Except for an inked inscription on the FFEP, the interior is free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and paper damage of any type. The rear hinge is quite strong and not damaged in any fashion; the front hinge is exposed and a bit weakened but holding. The text paper is moderately toned and a bit more heavily around the edges but it is flexible and not brittle. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. It has no illustrations. The series list in the front of the book lists the second and third books in the series. The VG- jacket is moderately toned with small chips at all four corners and at the head and heel of the spine, with wear and some color loss along the front gutter ridge.
