- Book 1 of 1: Daniel on Assignment
Three-year-old Daniel didn’t ask for his life to change. One day his dad was there. The next day he wasn’t. Then came Big Mark, the Penthouse, and fifteen barbers who became more than barbers they were like uncles.
Told through the eyes of a young boy growing into his purpose, this true story follows Daniel from dinosaurs and LEGO at age three to front-row Eagles games at age nine. Growing up in a blended family above a Philadelphia barbershop, Daniel learns that family doesn’t always look the same but when it’s real, it always feels like home.
Living through a global pandemic, baseball triumphs and setbacks, and moments that tested his faith. He discovers what it truly means to show up for himself and for others. He believes sometimes the best family is the one you build together.
With faith, community, a mother who makes the impossible happen, and the courage to keep going when life gets hard, Daniel proves that your beginning doesn’t determine your ending and sometimes the best family is the one you build together.
