This set includes: The Dancing Floor, 1938. Reprinted. Twentieth impression, originally published 1926. The third of five Leithen novels, following the eminent lawyer as he is introduced to Vernon Milburne. Vernon confides that he has had an annually-recurring dream in which he finds himself in a panelled chamber, knowing something is moving towards him. When he has to face the unknown something, will Leithen be able to help? Midwinter, 1939. Fourteenth edition, originally published 1923. A historical novel set during the Jacobite rising of 1745, intending to shed light on English writer, Samuel Johnson's previously unknown activities during this period. The Dancing Floor is bound in the original red paper covered boards, Midwinter is bound in the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrappers are also smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping to the extremities. The odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound.
