The type is renowned as a cargo aircraft, and we delve into the civilian and military roles carried out by the DC-3, C-47 Skytrain and the Dakota. From operations during World War Two, including D-Day, to post-war employment and even in the Vietnam War, we explore this type's fascinating and illustrious history. In this eagerly awaited and highly illustrated special, we look at the many facets of this iconic aircraft across 116 fact-filled pages. Having made its aerial debut in 1935, a few hundred Dakota are still flying today, more than 85 years later.
