Print on Demand. This book explores the ins and outs of successful dairy farming, seeking to propel dairymen to financial triumph. The author's central focus is to dispel the notion that cows producing less than 300 pounds of butter annually are worthy of a place on a farm. This belief, the author argues, reflects an outdated mindset that severely limits a dairyman's earnings. Instead, dairymen are encouraged to seek out and acquire high-yield cows capable of producing 500 or more pounds of butter each year. The author himself has witnessed and achieved great success with this approach, even going so far as to produce a cow yielding over 800 pounds of butter in a single year. The book delves into the specific details of how to identify, care for, and maintain a robust herd of high-yield cows. It also emphasizes the importance of cleanliness in all aspects of dairy farming, arguing that it is paramount to producing and delivering the highest quality dairy products. By following the author's guidance, dairymen can unlock the full potential of their operations and achieve financial success that has long eluded them. This book is a must-read for any dairyman seeking to maximize their profits and revolutionize their approach to dairy farming. Its insights and practical advice will empower dairymen to make informed decisions, elevate the quality of their products, and ultimately secure their financial future. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Within 25 years cows that will make over 500 pounds of butter each, can be produced in the United States. Why keep cows when will produce more milk, more cream and more butter? Most dairymen are easily satisfied and do not expect much. Keep no cow that, will not produce $100 a year. A few years ago I wrote and published a book, and when I talked about selling copies of it, my friends said I was a candidate for a lunatic asylum, but the publishers sold over copies, and they expect to exceed the mark. I expect to live to the time when cows that will make 600 pounds of butter will be numbered by hundreds of thousands. Every dairyman must read and study what he reads, and must learn that successful dairying depends principally upon his tact and earnest effort. Book learning does not make the successful man. The greatest book ever written about how to get along in the world, was written by a man who always ate the crust of poverty - he could tell other people how to suc ceed, but was a helpless failure himself.
