Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the Brigade Machine Gun Company, 154 Infantry Brigade, 51st Division, covering April 1918 to February 1919 across 98 pages. It names 42 places across 48 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one casualty and personnel return, two Operation Orders, one appendix and one map. Among the papers are: Casualties during operations 26th. October to 28th. October 1918.The diary opens at Busnettes on 1 April 1918. 1918 is spent at Escaudoeuvres, Fbg. St. Roch, Lancaster Camp. Mt St Eloy and Trenches Right Sub. Sector Oppy. 1919 at Houdeng Goegnies and St. Roch. It closes at Houdeng Goegnies on 28 February 1919. Houdeng Goegnies is where it spent longest, 48 days, it came back to Balmoral Camp Ecurie three separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Escaudoeuvres.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Trenches Right Sub. Sector Oppy, Trenches Oppy, Trenches Gavrelle Sector and Trenches Right Battn.
