Known for their brilliant colors, elegant shape, and graceful movement, discus fish are among the most admired freshwater aquarium fish in the world. Yet their beauty comes with specific care requirements that can make successful keeping challenging without the right knowledge.
THE DISCUS FISH HANDBOOK is a practical and comprehensive guide designed to help aquarists raise healthy, vibrant, and long-living discus fish with confidence. Whether you are preparing your first discus aquarium or looking to improve an established tank, this book provides clear, step-by-step guidance from the fundamentals through more advanced care and breeding techniques.
Written in an easy-to-understand style, this handbook explains the essential principles behind creating a stable aquarium environment, maintaining excellent water quality, providing proper nutrition, preventing common health problems, understanding discus behavior, and establishing conditions that support successful breeding.
Inside this comprehensive guide, you will discover:

• Raising Juvenile Discus — Learn how water quality, nutrition, stocking levels, and regular maintenance influence healthy growth and development.
• Stress Reduction and Enrichment — Discover ways to provide a secure environment that encourages natural behavior while minimizing unnecessary stress.
• Troubleshooting Common Problems — Learn how to approach issues such as poor appetite, faded coloration, aggression, unstable water parameters, slow growth, and breeding difficulties.
