8vo. 7.5 x 5.25 inches. vi + 398 pp. Bound in contemporary half leather, gilt, over marbled boards; spine in compartments with raised bands decorated gilt, with contrasting maroon title label, gilt. All edges marbled. Marbled endpapers. A little wear to extremities, including edges and corners and top edge sunned; otherwise a very good clean copy. In a uniform edition of the author's works, leather bound volume of Diana of the Crossways, perhaps the most popular of his fiction. Novel By George Meredith (1828-1909), whose plot revolves around a political scandal in an ill advised attempt by a wife to advance the career of her husband.
