Review
"If you're new to deer and deer hunting, it is absolutely essential that you add it to your library."--"Washington Sunday Times
"A readable, superbly illustrated work, as interesting as it is informative. The information Rue offers will sharpen even a veteran hunter's awareness of the complex nature of this great prey animal." --"Gray's Sporting Journal"
"Rue, a naturalist-photographer, has done a superb job of discussing the natural history of the deer on this continent." --Glenn L. Sapir, "Field and Stream"
"This is a book about the interaction of an animal, its environment, and its human neighbors. Hunters will find it immensely valuable. So will those who simply value the deer as an integral part of our wild heritage." --Adirondack Life "[This] will become the standard reference on North American deer" -- California Wildlife Magazine
