Deepak Seth started his business with a small order for 6,000 shirts to the USA, through an importer in 1976. Now, the Deepak Seth Group (DS Group), including PDS Ltd. and Pearl Global Industries Ltd. (PGIL), ships over a million pieces of garments daily from factories across the world. On an average, the Group has supplied at least two garments to each person, in the entire world, since starting the business. The Group counts more than 200 of the top global retailers, such as Zara, GAP, Marks & Spencer, etc., as its customers.
Deepak’s first order was despatched from his garage. Now, the Group has its sourcing and servicing offices across the world, in more than 22 countries including the USA, UK, Hong Kong, Dubai, etc. The business is truly an Indian multinational with global roots.
This book explores the mind and working style of this dynamic entrepreneur, Deepak Seth. Deepak’s vitality has catapulted him to the top of his profession. This book lists the best practices and legacies that the company has evolved during the past five decades. The Group steadfastly adheres to the highest ethical standards in all countries. Its dedication to quality, customer satisfaction and modern business practices, has contributed to its leadership in a highly volatile industry.
Deepak’s personal qualities have contributed immensely to his success and popularity. He has a pure heart. Family relations are the core of his personality. He is a fabulous husband and father. He is very close to his four brothers and their families. His values of integrity and hard work are inspired by his late father, Mr. M. L. Seth. His strong belief in family values is stimulated by his late mother, Mrs. Mina Seth. He is always there for his family and friends. Deepak is the best friend that anyone can have.
The book has a chapter on the “Best Practices of the Group”. I hope that these legacies will inspire businessmen to establish responsible global organisations. The last chapter of the book is “Deepak Seth’s Lessons for the Young”. His dedication to work, integrity, punctuality and humaneness are inspiring.
