Separate TLS from J.B. Tyrell to Wash Hist Soc asking for a copy of the review. Book cover and interior is very good condition. xcviii,582pp. Octavo. Black and white plates, 3 folding color plates (at end), and folding map in 4 parts in rear pocket. Original red cloth, gilt top edge gilt. Covers with minor soiling. Spine a bit faded otherwise a very nice copy. Peel 34. Organized in two parts: Part I covers Thompson's experiences and travels in the service of the Hudson Bay Company and North West Company in the country east of the Rockies between 1784 and 1807. Part II covers in detail the years 1807 to 1812. This work is published from the original manuscript owned at the time by the editor and written by Thompson many years after he left the west.
