Dalati’s Orthodontic Notes: From Fundamentals to Advanced Clinical Practice – Volume 1
By Prof. Dr. Mohamad Hani Nouri Dalati
This is Volume 1 of a carefully structured five-volume educational series created for busy students, residents, and practicing clinicians who need high-yield, clinically relevant orthodontic knowledge without unnecessary bulk.
Volume 1 establishes the essential scientific and biological foundations of modern orthodontics. It systematically covers the core principles of biomechanics and tooth movement, craniofacial growth and development, genetics and epigenetics in personalized care, diagnostic records and treatment planning, fixed/removable/functional/hybrid appliances, clear aligner systems, temporary anchorage devices, advanced anchorage control, and biomaterials science.
Each chapter follows a consistent multi-layered learning design: concise evidence-based summaries drawn from leading textbooks and current literature, practical clinical tips drawn from real-world experience, key take-home messages, advanced multiple-choice questions with detailed explanations, and OSCE-style stations that simulate examination and clinical decision-making scenarios. A comprehensive glossary supports terminology mastery across all domains.
Designed as both a rapid-review companion for board and specialty examinations (including MOrth and fellowship assessments) and a long-term clinical reference, this volume prioritizes clarity, biological reasoning, and practical application. It bridges classical orthodontic principles with contemporary digital, material, and biomechanical advances while remaining accessible for international readers across diverse educational systems.
Ideal for undergraduate and postgraduate learners, educators, and clinicians seeking a structured pathway from foundational understanding to advanced clinical competence. Subsequent volumes expand into interdisciplinary care, digital orthodontics, research and ethics, regenerative approaches, and future innovations.
