"A poignant, honest exploration of a father daughter relationship. Mike and Emily unpack their relationship and the family’s journey. The “formula” is what puts us to sleep and to be willing to let it go takes a great deal of courage and support.
Emily and Mike recognize the role that suffering was playing in their life and decide to do something about it by surrendering to the present moment and developing conscious awareness. They developed a practice of Self-awareness or the observing self, honestly, taking on the journey to awaken. They accompany each other on the journey and help to hold one another accountable. The stories and vignettes of their journey are funny, sad, engaging, and revealing. The stories allow us to laugh at ourselves and each other. Humor often makes the journey more tolerable.
Mike, Emily and their family provide a sense of community in which to grow, learn, and lovingly challenge one another. The Community, the teachings and the teacher are all essential ingredients for waking up. On their journey, Mike and Emily, become the “teachers’. Letting go requires Presence, Acceptance and Love. Emily, Mike and their family show us how it can be done."
