The Official Book of the Imperial War Museum Exhibition. Here we tell the remarkable story of the plannin and execution of the Normandy landings through the eyes of those closest to the action: the fresh-faced 18-year-old soldiers who were the first to storm the beaches; their senior officers, under immense pressure to succeed; the daring French Resistance colunteers, covertly supplying the Allies with vital intelligence; and special commandos and double-agents, engaged in a deadly game of truth and deception.
