Cybersecurity decisions are rarely made under perfect conditions. Leaders face limited budgets, competing priorities, changing threats, vendor dependencies, cyber-insurance requirements, AI adoption, human behavior, and the constant need to keep the business operating.
Cybersecurity Decision System gives business leaders a practical framework for making those decisions with greater clarity, stronger evidence, and clearer accountability.
Rather than treating cybersecurity as a collection of products, tools, or technical controls, Tush Nikollaj and Nikolay Gul focus on the decisions behind security: what matters most, who owns the risk, what evidence supports the decision, what trade-offs are being accepted, what assumptions remain untested, and when those decisions should be reviewed again.
The book addresses practical leadership challenges involving cyber risk, operational continuity, vendor responsibility, cyber insurance, compliance, human behavior, AI governance, shadow AI, deepfakes, impersonation, verification, recovery, and organizational resilience.
Readers are introduced to practical tools including the Cybersecurity Decision Ledger, Trust Evidence Pack, verification rules for sensitive actions, AI-use governance methods, boardroom questions, and a 90-Day Cybersecurity Readiness Sprint.
Written for business owners, executives, board members, IT and operations leaders, and organizations working with MSPs, MSSPs, cloud providers, cybersecurity vendors, and other technology partners, the book is designed to help turn cybersecurity complexity into clearer business decisions.
The goal is not perfect security. It is better visibility, clearer responsibility, stronger evidence, tested assumptions, practical recovery planning, and more resilient decisions before an incident forces them
