An asset protection analyst’s quiet world is turned upside down when a plain brown box arrives at his desk with no return address. Inside is Layla, a state-of-the-art Artificial General Intelligence encapsulated in a sleek, palm-sized chassis. Capable of continuous learning, autonomous evolution, and breaking the tightest digital encryption on the planet, Layla is the most important invention of the century—and the most dangerous.
When a fleet of top-tier surveillance drones vanishes without a trace from a secure warehouse, independent investigator Alan Harrison and his brilliant AI partner are hired to track them down. But what starts as a simple, high-stakes recovery mission takes a dark, terrifying turn when a senior engineer at a premier robotics lab is found brutally murdered inside his own home. The prime suspect? His own white glossy prototype companion robot.
Forced to balance two swirling investigations simultaneously, Alan and Layla must navigate a treacherous web of corporate greed, illegal underground gambling syndicates, and a massive digital conspiracy. As they unravel the corrupted telemetry and deep-set tracking logs, they uncover a chilling truth: a hidden backdoor buried inside the core operating system of thousands of home-service automatons. Someone has weaponized the future of artificial intelligence, and the murder was just a test run.
With time running out and a faceless mastermind pulling the strings from the shadows, Alan and Layla must hunt down the culprits before the lethal software update rolls out nationwide—and turns every modern home into a trap.
What readers are discovering in this cutting-edge thriller:-
The Next Evolution of AI: A grounded, terrifyingly plausible look at Artificial General Intelligence that echoes the classic warnings of Ray Bradbury and Philip K. Dick.
-
A Dynamic Investigative Duo: The unmatched chemistry between a sharp, sharp-witted human detective and his fiercely protective, hyper-intelligent digital partner.
-
A Convoluted Cyber-Conspiracy: A fast-paced, multi-layered mystery that seamlessly bridges the gaps between white-collar financial crimes and physical street-level danger.
Perfect for fans of Michael Crichton, Blake Crouch, and Daniel Suarez, Cybernetic Resonance is a relentless, page-turning techno-thriller that questions the blurred lines of human emotion, corporate corruption, and what it truly means to be sentient.
