A collection of Japanese short form poetry by John Pappas.
"John Pappas has written and arranged a series of haiku that acknowledges then unsettles the calm core of traditional haiku. He moves us beyond the meditative. Instead, Pappas makes explicit the latent irony of traditional haiku, quietly speaking for modern times. This collection makes the reader think and feel at the same time."
Helen Whall
professor emerita of English, College of the Holy Cross
"In still and all, John Pappas' latest and most resplendent offering, the poet masterfully captures the intricacies of humanity. With lyrical precision and striking imagery, Pappas invites the reader to pause and savor the moment being reflected. There is no whimsy here, this is life being observed in its delicate balance. Deeply resonant, fresh and satiating, still and all is as delicious as it is superb. A subtle beauty that even after multiple readings, this reader gleaned something new. This is a must read and cements Pappas as a master of the craft. Highly recommended!"
Reid Hepworth
author, the improbability of sea monkeys and loss is a river
"John Pappas weaves candid observations into a rich tapestry of words. still and all abounds with such gems, making it a treasure in the world of haikai."
Paul David Mena
author, tenement landscapes
