Kendall Spinner had spent most of her life holding together what was left of it. Orphaned as a teenager and raised by the family who took her in as one of their own, she built a quiet life in a small Tennessee town, helping on the Wilson farm, running a local coffee shop, and trying not to dwell on the home and future that were taken from her.
John Kenner arrived with little more than a truck, a duffel bag, and a past he had no intention of explaining. Quiet, capable, and impossible to ignore, he found work with Peter Wilson’s construction crew and a place to stay in the Wilsons’ old barn apartment. What was supposed to be a temporary stop soon became something far more dangerous to a man like John. It began to feel like home.
As John is slowly drawn into the rhythms of small-town life and the warmth of the Wilson family, his growing feelings for Kendall force him to face the one thing he has spent years avoiding. Staying. But when trouble pulls him into a violent rescue, Kendall begins to realize the steady man she’s falling for is far more complicated and far more dangerous than he appears.
Set in a town where everybody notices everything and love has a way of sneaking up on even the most guarded hearts, Cutter Creek is a story of redemption, belonging, sacrifice, and the kind of love that gives a wandering man a reason to come home.
For readers who love small-town romance with heart, humor, faith, and just enough action to keep the pages turning, Cutter Creek is an unforgettable story about finding family, choosing love, and discovering that sometimes the place you were only passing through becomes the place you were always meant to stay.
Cutter Creek is part of the larger Fractured Atlas universe, where ordinary lives intersect with the hidden people and events shaping a much bigger world. Readers of The Midwife and the Medic will recognize familiar connections, including Sam Jenkins and the shadowy network surrounding Detachment 793, while Cutter Creek stands completely on its own as a small-town story of love, family, and finding a place to belong.
