Downsizing, rightsizing, retrenchment - in the heat of battle, too many corporations turn to these and other quick-fix measures, only to pass on concerns regarding future profits to the next generation of managers.
Cut the Fat, Not the Muscle presents a wide variety of bold techniques that can not only cut costs, but provide a "profitability dominated approach" to future actions and expenditures.
Within these pages, you'll discover numerous techniques for long-term cost reduction with an eye on the future. For example, you'll see: how to gain a consensus for smart cost-reduction strategies, and then use that consensus to zero in on specific areas for saving; specific ways to leverage cost reductions to increase long-term profitability; proven ways to ensure continuous improvements through continued analysis; innovative ways to cut costs and increase productivity through talent pooling and cross training; and much, much more!
For easy and convenient use, this resource is organized around 12 important topics, each focusing on a different way to cut the fat from your organization while leaving the muscle intact: Improving Future Profitability ... Turning Cost-Cutting into Profit Improvement Activities ... Gaining Consensus ... Selecting Areas for Cost Reduction ... How to Analyze Expenditures ... How to Conduct Organizational Realignments ... Leveraging Cost Reduction to Improve Profitability ... Cutting the Fat with True Costing Techniques ... Managing Time More Efficiently ... Continuous Analysis ... Pooling People's Talents ... Maintaining Stellar Customer Service.
And you can be sure every technique and strategy in this guide will work because they have been tested and honed in companies the author consults for and in his international seminars.
In short, this very practical guide can help virtually any manager in any type or size business cut costs, improve long-term performance, and ensure both personal and business survival.
