We need to be honest. In today's world, it is very difficult to be free from the feeling of constant failure or the fear of failing. Low wages, underemployment, housing difficulties, divorce, and emotional illnesses are just some of the hallmarks of our generation. In addition to the increasingly expensive cost of maintaining a basic standard of living, we are subjected to competition in practically every area of our lives.
It is humanly impossible to achieve all the goals set by society. To be a good father and mother, to be a good spouse, to be a great professional, to have enough money to meet all our needs and provide pleasure and luxuries.
I do not want to talk here only about occasional failures, such as losing a job, failing a test, going through a divorce, or getting into debt. We know from various other literature that these situations can be important opportunities for learning and recovery. I want to go deeper and contemplate those who have constant failures, who contemplate their own lives as a succession of disappointments to the point of declaring, even in the silence of their rooms, "I'm a failure!" People who are very far from what they dreamed of and the potential they recognize in themselves, who day after day are struck by disappointments and may even have lost hope of seeing better days.
I wrote this book for you who can no longer stand feeling like a failure or a fraud. My desire is to bring encouragement and peace of mind to everyone who reads these pages, in addition to offering solid foundations for a new way of seeing life, where it will be possible to redesign the path, recalibrate expectations, and be happy.
I will not offer any magic solution for success here, nor do I believe in it. There is no single recipe for glory. What I do offer is a way to maintain your peace of mind, your emotions healthy, your willpower, and your expectations high, regardless of how things may be unfolding in your life. I am sure that learning to be wise in any situation is much more important than making all your dreams come true. This can save you and give meaning to your life.
I have felt like a failure, and I also experience difficulties on a daily basis. I decided to change my mindset and reinvent myself. I found paths that were both possible and pleasant.
I can say that, even with problems, I still wake up in the morning and look forward to the day. I still have hope; I still live and not just survive.
