Ignacio admiraba profundamente a Stevenson.
—Josefina R. Aldecoa
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
The complete stories of Ignacio Aldecoa, collected in a single volume.
“Ignacio was a first-class narrator. For him, telling stories was a way of life. His talent, dedication and quest for perfection drove his efforts to tell them effectively, using the most beautiful and expressive language possible.
Ignacio was a fervent admirer of Stevenson. He liked to tell listeners about the epitaph the indigenous inhabitants of Samoa engraved on the author’s headstone: ‘Here lies Tusitala, teller of stories.’ Afterward, Ignacio would turn pensive and add: - That’s how I’d like to be remembered: Ignacio Aldecoa, teller of stories.
And he’d smile. Because Ignacio had a way of being whimsical about things he took seriously. He hated self-importance and pedantry and liked to speak lightly about somber subjects: the brevity of existence, the implacable unfairness of being born just to die, and death itself.” -Josefina R. Aldecoa

About the Author
