Paperback. Layne Sorensen has spent twenty years running from a house he's never told anyone about - not his wife, not his daughter, not himself. When his marriage finally breaks and he disappears north, alone, into an Alaska he's never seen, he tells himself it's to get lost. He doesn't expect the lake. He doesn't expect the door.Back home, Callie is done waiting for an explanation that never comes - until strange things start happening to her too. A cold that has no source. A color she can't stop seeing. A feeling, growing instead of fading, that whatever pulled her husband north isn't finished with either of them.Something is beneath the ice. Something is behind the door. And the closer Layne gets to either one, the less certain anyone should be about what's real, what's memory, and what's finally come to collect what it's owed.A haunting, slow-burn descent into a marriage's unraveling and the grief neither of them ever let themselves name - Cryosis asks how far a person will go to outrun the thing that's already inside them.
