All the women are refugees or living in exile. In addition to the stories and memories, Crossing the Border includes articles on women's lives and on women's writing in each of the countries mentioned.
About the Author: Jennifer Langer has edited four volumes of refugee writing for Five Leaves. She is the founder and organiser of Exiled Writers Ink, and is the daughter of refugee parents.
