Paperback. In Puerto Rico, faith is preached in big print and billed in the fine print.Credo en letras pequenas gathers short stories where satire bites and barrio tenderness heals: pulpits that double as catwalks, hells in 4K, oils "imported from Jerusalem," gold VIP passes to get closer to the throne, temples with a T-Rex at the door, and promises with an asterisk on the way out. With wit and compassion, Edwin Alverio unmasks the stage show orchestrated in God's name and returns the spotlight to everyday people-the hairdresser, the usher, the widow, the cobbler, the teacher. This book isn't against faith; it's against profiting from it.Author's Note: Firsthand experiences and close accounts from Puerto Rico (1998-2025). Not a generalization; a critique of harmful practices and structures. Some events are fictionalized; names and identifying details have been changed for privacy.About the Author: Edwin Alverio is a Puerto Rican educator, artisan, painter, and short-story writer whose work explores family legacies, diaspora, and everyday objects as vessels for untold stories.Cover Art: The Selfie, watercolor by the author (2017).
