Local police and park rangers, initially baffled, escalate their investigation by deploying trail cameras. These cameras capture irrefutable evidence of a UAP landing near the Mameyes River, from which alien beings emerge. It is revealed that these aliens are abducting humans for consumption, turning a serene natural environment into a hunting ground. The escalating threat prompts the involvement of the military, transforming the situation into an open conflict as humanity attempts to repel the alien invaders and protect itself from becoming a food source. The resolution involves a desperate struggle where the military and local forces attempt to combat the alien threat, with the fate of the abducted and the survival of those remaining hanging in the balance. A violent, anomalous electrical storm precedes the arrival of a mysterious glowing object that crashes deep within El Yunque National Forest. In the aftermath, disappearances of hikers, researchers, and locals escalate, with search parties finding only stripped bones and unusual organic residue, fueling local legends of an awakened ancient entity. The U.S. military, led by Captain Mateo Rivera, a Puerto Rican officer familiar with the terrain, is quietly deployed to contain the situation. They soon discover the crashed object was a delivery pod for the K’thra, an amphibious-reptilian extraterrestrial species adapted for jungle warfare, possessing near-invisibility, thermal vision, vibration sensing, and neurotoxic barbs. The K’thra are not random killers but methodical harvesters, paralyzing and cocooning their human prey alive in organic resin to be slowly consumed, while constructing a vast breeding or processing nest within the rainforest, effectively farming humanity.
Dr. Sofia Alvarez, a biologist, provides critical evidence that the K’thra are actively altering the rainforest's ecosystem, while local guide Luis "Wicho" Delgado offers insight into the forest's legends and hidden paths, believing the jungle itself is resisting the invasion. Mainland soldier Specialist Aaron Cole witnesses the devastating efficiency of the K’thra firsthand when his unit is decimated. As the K’thra begin to expand their hunting grounds beyond El Yunque and threaten nearby towns, the military's advanced tactics and weaponry prove insufficient as the creatures adapt. Captain Rivera must then lead a desperate, high-stakes mission into the K'thra's subterranean nest—a claustrophobic, pulsating hive filled with human captives and organic walls. In a brutal, close-quarters assault, Rivera faces an agonizing decision: destroy the nest and the captives within, or risk the complete propagation of the K’thra species globally. The story concludes with a choice between a bleak survival where spores escape, a government cover-up, or a hint of the invasion spreading beyond Puerto Rico.
