Hardcover. For twenty years, David has built a life defined by distance: from the Vermont farmhouse where he grew up, from the memories that have followed him into adulthood, and from the family he left behind. When an unexpected call from his sister brings him back to the family home, old patterns begin to unravel, revealing a past that is far more complicated than he has allowed himself to remember. As long-buried truths emerge, David and his siblings are forced to reconsider not only who their parents were, but also the stories they have told themselves in order to survive.Crazy String is a contemporary novel about memory, grief, and the invisible threads that bind families across generations. With compassion and emotional honesty, it explores the quiet weight of secrets, the stories we tell ourselves to survive, and the enduring search for understanding. Richly observed and deeply human, it asks whether confronting the past can ever truly set us free. Returning to his childhood home forces a man to confront the long-buried secrets and fractured memories that have shaped his family's history. Can facing the truth finally break the ties of a painful past? This item is printed on demand.
