Print on Demand. This book investigates the Book of Genesis by positing that it was written by Moses during his exile as a means of consoling and educating his fellow countrymen. The author contends that the book is a reliable source of information about the creation, the fall of humanity, and the antediluvian world. They argue that it was written with the assistance of divine inspiration and was later preserved by the Israelites thanks to its profound insights and importance to their spiritual tradition. By analyzing the text and its historical context, the author sheds light on the nature of humanity's relationship with the divine and the significance of following a righteous path. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Convinced that reason and revelation mutually support each other, and that true philosophy is the best defence against scepticism and infidelity, I have ventured, on these principles, to contribute my mite to the support of sacred history. And whether I have thrown any new light on that part of it, which falls under my review, must be left to the judgment of the impartial reader; but I flatter myself, I have freed it from some visionary comments, which can neither be reconciled to the rectitude of the divine nature, nor to that uniformity of government, which is exercised over the natural and moral world.
