Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book provides an invaluable guide to identifying the wildflowers of Britain. It goes beyond the basic name of a plant, offering readers a framework for understanding the natural orders, families, and relationships of plant life. The author does this by adopting a practical approach, using clear, concise language to explain botany and dispel any confusion. The book's content is structured through a combination of detailed illustrations and descriptive text. This unique combination allows readers to quickly identify wildflowers by matching their discoveries with the diagrams and descriptions. This accessible approach has given the book broad appeal, making it a favourite of both casual readers and experienced naturalists. The author divides wildflowers into three categories based on their reproductive organs: petaloid, incomplete, and monocotyledonous. Each section covers a broad range of plant types, from the most commonly found to the more obscure. Each entry includes detailed information on the specific characteristics and morphology of the plant, providing valuable insights into the evolutionary history of wildflowers. This book is not only an indispensable tool for identifying wildflowers, but also an excellent resource on the natural world. It is an ideal companion for nature enthusiasts hoping to expand their knowledge of botany and deepen their appreciation for the diversity of wildflowers. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781332768103_0
