If you are one of the many thousands of parents in the midst of a painful separation or divorce this year, The Coparents’ Communication Handbook is your user-friendly guide to successful coparenting—and maintaining a well-adjusted two-household family.
Psychotherapists and divorce experts Susan Boyan, LMFT, and Ann Marie Termini, LPC, have taken their decades of counseling, training, and writing experience and collaborated to create an easy-to-read guide for coparents navigating the often tumultuous divorce process.
How you choose to communicate with your coparent has a significant impact on your children. This guide touches on every major aspect of interpersonal parenting interaction, including the following:
- How to develop a child-centered communication protocol
- How to minimize and negotiate parental conflict
- How to change your communication skills, your emotional reactions, and set effective limits with your coparent
- How to be sensitive to your child’s emotional needs during separation and divorce
You’ll also learn the Divorce Rules and Fair Fighting Rules for Coparents, among other resources, that offer tips to improving communication while reducing conflict.
