Neuware - 'Contemporary Thought of Italy' provides an insightful survey of the philosophical and intellectual currents prevalent in early 20th-century Italy. Angelo Crespi explores the shifting paradigms of Italian life, focusing on the emergence of New Idealism and its impact on the country's cultural direction. The work features significant discussion on the contributions of Benedetto Croce and Giovanni Gentile, analyzing their roles in revitalizing Italian metaphysics, historiography, and aesthetics.Through a critical lens, Crespi examines the relationship between Italian thought and the broader European intellectual tradition, addressing themes of religion, ethics, and the role of the state. The book offers a thorough examination of how Italian thinkers responded to the challenges of modernity and the socio-political shifts of the post-war era. 'Contemporary Thought of Italy' serves as an indispensable resource for students of modern philosophy and those seeking to understand the foundations of contemporary Italian intellectual identity. It highlights the unique ways in which the Italian spirit engaged with global intellectual trends while maintaining a distinct and powerful national character. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
