There are many books on traditional Aboriginal art in Australia, but this book is unique because it combines Torres Strait Islander art works with Aboriginal art. It also shows the strong tropical influence of Far North Queensland. The artists strive to remain loyal to their traditions, but also to experiment with daring new forms and contemporary cross-cultural philosophies. This book is destined to become an historic milestone in the showcasing of indigenous Queensland artists and it a credit to Anna Eglitis' ATSI Art School in Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE.
