What's more, you can be sure the information you receive is accurate and up-to-date because only the most credible and distinguished organizations are included in the guide - from government agencies including the National Institutes of Health and The President's Committee on Physical Fitness, and large health organizations such as The American Cancer Society and The American Heart Association... to University Medical School Departments with special expertise in treating specific ailments, and smaller non-profit support groups that provide information and counseling on individual conditions.
For each organization, the guide lists its aim or purpose...its publications...the special services it offers...a current address and phone number...and, where available, a toll-free 800 hotline number.
Here's a brief sampling of the goldmine of FREE information the guide gives you fast access to hearing tests by telephone...an attractive option for braces...tips on how to beat depression...burn and orthopedic treatment for children...the latest information on AIDS...treatment and care for aging and sun-damaged skin...foot care for older people...tactics for coping with aging parents...data on diagnostic ultrasound imaging in pregnancy...steps for preventing baby bottle tooth decay...recipes and tips for better nutrition during cancer treatment...strategies to make your heart last longer...information on obesity and energy metabolism...and the latest findings, treatments, and issues on hundreds of other health care topics.
