What does it mean to be a faithful husband and father when the world keeps changing the definition of both?
Saint Joseph never delivers a speech in the Gospels. Yet God entrusted to him two extraordinary responsibilities: to be the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the earthly father and guardian of Jesus Christ.
Consecration to Saint Joseph for Husbands and Fathers is a practical, deeply Catholic 33-day spiritual journey for men who want Saint Joseph's example and intercession to transform the way they live their most important relationships.
Rather than presenting an idealized version of Catholic masculinity, this book brings Joseph into the realities men actually face: marriage, children, work, financial pressure, temptation, anger, sexuality, technology, wounds inherited from their own fathers, fear of failure, and the difficult realization that loving a family does not mean being able to control its future.
In this extensively revised edition, husbands and fathers will discover how to:
- Love their wives with greater fidelity, tenderness, honesty, and sacrificial commitment.
- Lead and protect their children without confusing fatherly authority with control.
- Confront anger, pornography, distraction, overwork, and other threats to authentic presence.
- Heal unhealthy patterns inherited from their own fathers without rejecting the good they received.
- Entrust their families to Saint Joseph while keeping Jesus Christ, the sacraments, and Catholic faith at the center.
Grounded in Scripture and Catholic teaching, each day combines substantial spiritual reflection with practical examination, prayer, and concrete application. The book carefully distinguishes what Scripture actually tells us about Joseph from later devotional tradition, allowing his genuine biblical witness to speak with unusual strength.
This is not a promise that consecration will produce a perfect marriage, perfect children, or a life without suffering. Nor is it another program demanding that exhausted fathers become flawless Catholic men.
It is an invitation to something quieter and more enduring: fidelity.
For the man who wants to become more present to his wife, more trustworthy to his children, more honest about his weaknesses, and more completely surrendered to Christ, Saint Joseph offers a powerful model of fatherhood lived without spectacle.
Thirty-three days. One consecration. A lifetime of learning to love the people God has entrusted to you.
