Add to basketPaperback. Your conduit may look right. The measurements say otherwise. A bend that misses by even a fraction of an inch does not average out. Once conduit is measured, cut, and curved, there is no correction-only wasted material, lost time, and another attempt. Most conduit bending mistakes come from one problem: knowing what the numbers on a reference card say without understanding why they work. A take-up chart may carry an apprentice through a shift. It cannot solve an angle the table does not include, a bender whose actual dimensions differ from catalog values, or a smartphone app that gives a precise answer to the wrong question. This handbook fixes that.Built from first principles, this electrical conduit bending guide explains the trigonometry behind take-up, gain, shrink, offset multipliers, and springback, then applies that knowledge to every bending method, digital tool, and code requirement working electricians encounter.Stop memorizing isolated numbers. Start understanding every bend. Inside, you will learn to: Master conduit bending calculations-understand where take-up, gain, shrink, multipliers, and springback come from, so unfamiliar trade sizes, angles, and benders stop becoming guesswork.Execute essential field bends-complete 90-degree stubs, back-to-back bends, box offsets, kicks, rolling offsets, plus three- and four-bend saddles, with verification checks that catch errors before conduit becomes scrap.Operate every major bender class-move confidently between hand, mechanical, electric, and hydraulic benders, chart unfamiliar tools, and follow the safety procedures specific to each equipment type.Handle advanced fabrication-plan large-diameter segmented and concentric bends while completing threading and conduit fabrication accurately the first time.Use modern bending technology wisely-work with smartphone bending apps, coordinated digital models, CNC bending machines, and shop prefabrication tools while recognizing how each can produce confidently wrong results.Apply current installation requirements-address support spacing, burial depth, thermal expansion, seismic bracing, underground conduit, EV charging systems, solar installations, and code compliance. Coverage begins with conduit material selection and bend-calculation trigonometry, then advances through offsets, kicks, saddles, segmented bending, concentric bending, threading, fabrication, coordinated modeling, digital tools, underground installation, and professional code practice.Every chapter opens with clear learning objectives and closes with worked practice problems plus a complete answer key. This is not another pocket chart. It is a complete conduit bending handbook for first-year electrical apprentices building calculation literacy, journeyman electricians adding hydraulic and segmented bending skills, and instructors seeking one practical reference that connects foundational mathematics to modern fieldwork. Open the book today, calculate with confidence, reduce costly rework, and start making every conduit bend right the first time. This item is printed on demand. Your conduit may look right. The measurements say otherwise.
A bend that misses by even a fraction of an inch does not average out. Once conduit is measured, cut, and curved, there is no correction—only wasted material, lost time, and another attempt.
This handbook fixes that.
Built from first principles, this electrical conduit bending guide explains the trigonometry behind take-up, gain, shrink, offset multipliers, and springback, then applies that knowledge to every bending method, digital tool, and code requirement working electricians encounter.
