One of Kierkegaard's major works, partly an attack on Hegel's ideas. Lowrie completed the translation and added an introduction & notes after Swenson's untimely death. Stated sixth printing, 1960; first published 19 years earlier. Hardcover in jacket, as pictured. Light wear & minor scuffing to book; jacket rubbed with a few short tears, light chipping, faded spine; minor foxing/spotting to page edges. 13 PAGES IN THE LAST CHAPTER WITH A LITTLE INK UNDERLINING & MARGINALIA.
