It shows you how to improve your important decisions using an algorithmic approach through each stage of a disciplined process. You'll be guided through understanding why decisions go wrong, preparation, creating the decision statement (understanding the question to be answered), creating and expanding options, evaluating and filtering options, managing risks and limiting losses, tracking and reviewing the results and improving the process with each use. Working in teams or alone, this tool offers best practices for managing emotional reactions, ethical and moral concerns, sustainability, communication and resilience. This handbook and guide captures the essentials in a slim volume to teach you at every stage how to put up guardrails to keep on track, limit losses and reduce risk. You'll gain critical thinking tools and skills with each use of the book and improve the outcomes for all of your important decisions. Never face that forehead-slapping "D'OH" moment again. You'll learn how to avoid the common errors that make every human being miss the important while dealing with the trivial. Some things reliably make us all stupid. Eliminating the stupid mistakes will have a greater positive effect than spending time and effort on the "perfect" decision. In addition you'll find links to resources to dig deeper and to help you with your decisions such as the Better Decision Workbook and Better Decision Checklist .
