Print on Demand. This book is a compendium of the leading principles of natural and revealed theology, aiming to provide a systematic view of the doctrines found in the Bible. Drawing on both necessary ideas and the design evident in the universe, the author argues for the existence of an eternal, omnipotent, and innite God. The book then explores the moral attributes of God, including his holiness, goodness, and justice, and their implications for human conduct. Moving on to the duties of human nature, the author classifies them into those we owe to God, to our fellow-men, and to ourselves, providing a clear and comprehensive guide to ethical living. Ultimately, this book offers a profound examination of the relationship between God and humanity, shedding light on our moral obligations and the path to a virtuous life. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

A native, which perhaps may be justly deemed an instinctive sentiment of Deity, or of that universal power which presides over all things, occupies and takes deep possession of the human heart, in the earliest periods of society and the most uncultivated states of human existence. Home has originated that multitude of objects which called forth the respect or veneration, or amused the fancy of mankind in the heathen world; and that vast assemblage of supernatural orfantastic beings, which peopled the groves and the forests, the hills and the fountains of antiquity. Men, unable to grasp the grand comprehensive idea of the Supreme Being, who fills the universe with his presence, yet conscious of God in every place, invested all the interesting objects of nature with 'butes ot' divinity.
